This exquisite George III chest of drawers really does stand out; just look at the veneers and inlays on the drawers and sides truly sets it off a treat. |

It has a highly figured mahogany top with ‘D’ moulded edge above a highly decorated frieze in boxwood and rosewood cross banding with two secret drawers. The front edges are decorated in boxwood stringing. Above two short over three long drawers cock beaded and inlaid with boxwood stringing to fronts and veneered in flame mahogany, with diamond shaped ivory escutcheons, all drawer lining are pine with blue sugar paper and are in reasonable condition. Handles are original mushroom shaped and polished. |

All supported on French style swept bracket feet and joined by a shaped apron to front and serpentine apron to sides with rosewood and boxwood stringing to front and sides. Hepplewhite would have approved. |
